Three tournaments finished over the weekend, and each of them delivered a close finish. Here is our round-up.
Hickstead: Argentina win on debut
England lost the Bryan Morrison Trophy at the All England Polo Club on Saturday, with Argentina winning 18-17 after the match went to an extra chukka and was settled by a golden goal. Argentina had never played for the trophy before, and Alfredo Bigatti, Nico Roberts and Adolfo Casabal came away with it on their first attempt. For England it was a second defeat in this fixture in as many years, after the narrow loss to Ireland in 2024.
Kitzbühel: three in a row for Intocast
On Sunday, Team Intocast beat the World Polo League 11-7 in the final of the 22nd Snow Polo World Cup in Kitzbühel. The win gave them a third consecutive title. Matthias Normann captained the side alongside Micky Duggan and Martin Donovan, and Donovan was named Most Valuable Player. In the other finals, Bentley, led by Melissa Ganzi, won the Casablanca Cup 10-7.5 against Tiger Frontier Scaleluna, and Engel and Volkers beat Veuve Clicquot 7-5.5 for third place.
AlUla: a desert finish
In Saudi Arabia, the Richard Mille Polo Team won the Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo at Al-Fursan Equestrian Village on Saturday, beating Ikmah 8-6. The sides were level at 6-6 until the final minute of the fourth chukka, when Richard Mille scored twice to settle it. Their team was Pablo Mac Donough, Clare Milford Haven and Mohammed AlSewedy. Ikmah fielded Nacho Figueras, Prince Hamza bin Abbas and Ploy Bhinsaeng.
- Prince Hamza bin Abbas was named MVP and Clare Milford Haven was the best female player.
- Nacho Figueras was top scorer, and the best playing pony was Obsoleta, ridden by Mac Donough.
- Bentley beat AlUla 6-5 in the Subsidiary Cup, and Dadan beat Budget 7-6 in the Wooden Spoon.
